Road Safety & Disaster Recovery

Road Safety

WPS specialises in the identification, development, and delivery of road safety improvements across regional and urban networks. Our team has extensive experience in the NSW Safer Roads and Federal Black Spot programs, providing end-to-end support from project identification and funding submissions through to delivery and post-completion evaluation.

Since 2020, we have successfully developed and submitted nearly 100 funding applications valued at over $75 million, achieving a high success rate for both local and state government clients. Our expertise extends across program management, road safety audits, and strategic development of route-based and location-specific proposals using frameworks such as Safe Systems and Movement and Place.

Our team has deep knowledge of the NSW Safer Roads program guidelines and is highly proficient in using the Safer Roads Portal. We ensure that every project is grounded in data, aligned with program objectives, and designed to deliver measurable safety outcomes.

Disaster Recovery

Western Project Services (WPS) has extensive experience supporting regional and local councils through all phases of disaster recovery, from immediate response to long-term infrastructure restoration. Our team understands the challenges faced by councils during natural disasters and works as a trusted partner to reduce pressure, ensure compliance, and accelerate recovery efforts.

We offer end-to-end services aligned with the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) and other relevant frameworks, including damage assessments, scoping and estimating, funding applications, program management, procurement, contract administration, and project delivery oversight. Our experienced team integrates seamlessly with council operations, supporting internal teams or delivering services independently as required.

With a deep understanding of rural and regional conditions, WPS brings the agility and responsiveness needed during crisis situations, combined with a strong track record in delivering value for money and compliant outcomes. We are also experienced in liaising with Transport for NSW, Public Works, and funding bodies, helping councils navigate the complex requirements involved in disaster recovery programs.
